In 1946, Mr. McIntyre became the first Black Canadian to sign a professional baseball contract when he played for the Sherbrooke Canadians, a farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals. In the same year Jackie Robinson began playing for the Montreal Royals, the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team. MManny McIntyre was as comfortable in a hockey rink as on a ball diamond. He was a rugged left winger and a member of the famous “Black Aces” the first all-Black line in professional hockey
