The Launch of our “Helping Kids Play Sports” program

The Maritime Sport Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the launch of its “Helping Kids Play Sports” program. The program, a cornerstone of the hall’s constitution and its commitment to helping the less fortunate youngsters who wish to participate in sports, will provide financial assistance to deserving athletes, individuals or teams, in 2016.

To celebrate the creation of the hall which was announced in October of 2015, six awards will be presented at next year’s induction ceremony scheduled for June. In keeping with the Maritime focus the awards will be shared equally with two given to worthy individuals or teams from each of the three Maritime provinces. Applications for the awards can be found on the hall’s website, www.maritmesporthalloffame.com, and submitted for consideration between Nov. 1 and Mar. 1. The six chosen will be announced along with the 2016 inductees on Apr. 15

The major means of fundraising for this initiative is an auction scheduled for Sun., October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Brewster’s Restaurant in Bedford. Anyone wishing to support this most worthy cause by donating items for the auction can do so via the website or by contacting any member of the hall’s executive committee. All donations will be acknowledged on the website and at the auction.
